Senior Manager, Workforce Partnerships

The Senior Manager, Workforce Partnerships will play an important role in supporting the objectives of Opportunity@Work’s (O@W) organizational strategy and growth plan, with a focus on engaging training providers in various elements of our work. This new role is designed to help create and implement our vision for engagement and partnerships across the workforce ecosystem, focused on cultivating a sizable and scalable provider network hiring STARs. 
This person will report to the Director of Partnerships and work closely with the Insights, Marketplace, and STARs Pathways Collective teams to identify and prioritize opportunities for engagement. The Senior Manager will also directly build, nurture, and monitor relationships with key partners to ensure innovative, impactful partnership initiatives and platforms.

This person is a collaborative leader with experience in partnerships, program management, and/or workforce development. This person's primary focus will be to leverage and forge connections that expand O@W’s relationships with training providers and their networks (employers, alumni, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

Partnership Management with Training Providers
  • Build strong relationships with partners to help advance the mission and vision of Opportunity@Work, including specific management of a portfolio of up to 10 national training providers.
  • Develop and manage initiatives in collaboration with current workforce development partners. Examples might include:
    • Growing customers/end-users for our Marketplace platform, especially in targeted regions
    • Collaborative design projects through the STARs Pathways Collective that require workforce participation and engagement
    • Mobilizing endorsements for the STARs narrative among the workforce ecosystem
  • Explore new workforce development partnerships such as building relationships with new provider partners at the national and local levels, including community colleges and online credential providers
  • Identify challenges and opportunities facing training providers--understanding and uncovering opportunities in terms of job roles/pathways, new markets, and growing their employer networks. 
Resource Mobilization
  • Contribute to collaborative funding proposals, serving as a key liaison to development peers at select provider organizations.
  • Support cross-functional proposals at O@W that require knowledge and input of training providers
  • Help develop meaningful outcomes-based reports for stakeholders demonstrating positive effects for STARs and the providers that serve them
Strategy & Leadership
  • Work closely with the Chief Partnerships Officer and the Director of Partnerships to recommend, shape, and implement a shared vision for engagement and partnership that will amplify Opportunity@Work’s vision, research, products, and services (including engagement with Marketplace platform)
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of the most effective issues and opportunities for training providers, including keeping up with research and trends and patterns in inclusive hiring, future of work, and workforce development--and support staff in incorporating this information and these networks into their work.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in roles in partnerships, program management, and/or stakeholder relations, with prior success in the workforce sector. This includes a track record of success in partnership development, fundraising, and activating relationships through successful planning and engagement.
  • A deep commitment to our mission of inclusive hiring and workforce development, and a desire to be part of a team that is committed to growth and learning.
  • Knowledge of training providers, employers, and trends related to O@W issues.
  • Skilled in working across teams and organizations, with the ability to communicate effectively with audiences of various backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire action among a wide range of audiences. 
  • Previous experience and success working with senior executives; providing strategic counsel while successfully navigating differing points of view.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires collaboration, problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing demands.
  • Experience with CRM tools.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation:  We believe in equal pay for equal work. Salary for our positions are based on market data and NOT what you’ve been paid before nor your negotiation skills.
  • Healthcare: We pay 100% of your medical, dental, and vision coverage and 50% of the premium for your spouse and/or dependents. 
  • Retirement: We match 4% of your salary (up to a maximum of $5,000) annually, and will contribute an additional 1% of your salary, even if you don’t make a contribution.
  • Paid Time Off We value work/life balance and trust our team members to be productive. In service of this, our Responsible Paid Time Off policy does not limit time off. Additionally, we are closed for major holidays including the last week of the year.
  • Parental Leave: To help support new parents in the workplace, we offer 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Flexible Work Schedules:  We are 100% remote through Q1 2021 and afterward will continue to offer flexible schedules including partial work from home options.
