Customer Acquisition Manager

The Customer Acquisition Manager will support the growth of our Stellarworx Talent Marketplace which aims to bring inclusive employers, training providers, and STARs together under one module to vet and source industry-recognized talent.  They are responsible for lead generation and management, prospect education through sales presentations, and providing excellent customer service from initiation through handoff to the Customer Success Team. 

This person should be comfortable building and operationalizing a sales plan. They should be collaborative and client-centered who can work in a dynamic environment centered around a new and evolving product. To be successful, this person must be an effective communicator including excellent writing communication, active listening, and compelling presentation skills. Finally, they will need to have the ability to exercise business judgment in order to effectively interpret information, identify patterns and opportunities, and determine a path forward.

This position will be based out of our Washington, D.C office and will report directly to the Director of Customer Acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute end to end sales process including prospecting, initial reach out, needs analysis, presentation, overcoming objections, and close
  • Manage customer sales pipeline in the CRM database efficiently with a sense of urgency
  • Build and maintain relationships post-sale in partnership with the Customer Success team
  • Partner effectively with the Customer Success, Marketplace Operations, Product, and Marketing & Communication teams; understanding their work and needs, providing timely results, feedback, and support 
  • Proactively learn and understand industry best practices and future of work concepts
  • Develop a deep understanding of target audiences and capture audience feedback on Stellarworx value proposition, features and functionality, messaging, and marketing materials to share with internal teams
  • Execute complex market research that identifies potential employer leads and opportunities
  • Perform business development functions through networking and strategic referral and manage relationships 

Skills Knowledge & Expertise

  • 3+ years of enterprise saas and/or account management experience including acquisition, recruitment, and retention
  • Internal and external stakeholder relationship management 
  • Strong analytical insight and a love for making data-driven decisions
  • Ability to develop and communicate a sales strategy 
  • Knowledge of hiring pipelines and/or a strong network of small to medium businesses in the region
  • Expertise in selling strategies and methodologies, 
  • Agile problem solver that is comfortable working with ambiguity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and writing ability
  • Experience working for a non-profit 
  • Experience working for a start-up a plus

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation:  We believe in equal pay for equal work. Salary for our positions are based on market data and not what you’ve been paid before nor your negotiation skills.
  • Healthcare: We pay 100% of your medical, dental, and vision coverage and 50% of the premium for your spouse and/or dependents. 
  • Retirement: We match 4% of your salary (up to a maximum of $5,000) annually, and will contribute an additional 1% of your salary.
  • Paid Time Off We value work/life balance and trust our team members to be productive. In service of this, our Responsible Paid Time Off policy does not limit time off. Additionally, we are closed for major holidays including the last week of the year.
