Director, Marketplace

The Director, Marketplace is responsible for devising and implementing strategies to scale adoption of and positive outcomes from the Opportunity Marketplace. Key initiatives may include large-scale corporate partnerships, expanding the breadth of jobseekers served, and launching a paid revenue model for the marketplace. This position will report directly to the SVP & GM of Marketplace and will work in close collaboration with the Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Marketplace Development. This is a leadership-level position and you will have the opportunity to hire direct reports as the team scales.

This team member should have a track record of developing, implementing, and managing strategic partnerships with enterprise companies. Previous experience working on Talent/D&I-related initiatives is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and implement strategies to scale the Opportunity Marketplace, which may include strategic partnerships, go-to-market and monetization, to user experience initiatives
  • Oversee implementation of strategic projects; own responsibility for placements and other customer outcomes.
  • Galvanize teammates to execute on strategic projects in an effective and timely manner
  • Manage relationships with key strategic partners at both Fortune 500 companies and/or large social sector organizations
  • Identify opportunities to improve strategic partners’ and/or customers’ experience with the marketplace; prioritize and communicate those opportunities to Product accordingly
  • Inform grant proposals/strategic partnership agreements with marketplace growth strategies (collaborating closely with the Resource Mobilization and Strategic Partnerships teams)

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • A decisive leader with proven ability to plan and lead teams to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment 
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities to drive outcomes and meet deadlines
  • Experience cultivating and building partnerships with Fortune 500 companies and/or large national social sector organizations
  • Ability to work with all levels of a partner organization, especially at the executive & C-suite level
  • Energetic, proactive self-starter who is highly capable of identifying and executing the necessary steps needed to drive forward partnerships based on a robust understanding of organizational structures, priorities, and dynamics
  • Creative and collaborative problem-solver; comfort working through ambiguity to define priorities with quantitative and qualitative data 
  • Strong record of internal and external stakeholder relationship management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong executive-level written and oral communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for Opportunity@Work’s mission
  • Experience in the workforce development, inclusive talent management and/or Opportunity Youth space (preferred)
  • Experience as an HR or management consultancy (preferred)

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation:  We believe in equal pay for equal work. Salary for our positions are based on market data and NOT what you’ve been paid before nor your negotiation skills.
  • Healthcare: We pay 100% of your medical, dental, and vision coverage and 50% of the premium for your spouse and/or dependents.
  • Retirement: We match 4% of your salary (up to a maximum of $5,000) annually, and will contribute an additional 1% of your salary, even if you don’t make a contribution.
  • Paid Time Off We value work/life balance and trust our team members to be productive. In service of this, our Responsible Paid Time Off policy does not limit time off.
  • Parental Leave: To help support new parents in the workplace, we offer 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
