Senior Manager, Corporate Partnerships

The Senior Manager, Partnerships is responsible for expanding Opportunity@Work’s relationships with large companies interested in hiring STARs through our marketplace platform, deepening current relationships with enterprise partners, and bringing in new business, including the supply chains and customer networks of our ecosystem partners. 
This is a new role, designed to help create and implement our vision for engagement and partnerships across the workforce ecosystem, focused on cultivating a sizable and scalable employer network hiring STARs.

This person is a business development leader with experience in corporate HR and/or workforce development. They will report to and partner with the Director of Partnerships and work closely with both the  Marketplace platform team.

Key Responsibilities

 Partnership Management with Leading Companies:
  • Build strong relationships with partners to help advance the mission and vision of Opportunity@Work, including specific management of a portfolio that includes 5-10  key Fortune 500 partners
  • Develop and manage key lighthouse projects in close collaboration with key employers including; incorporating STARs hiring targets into corporate strategies, transforming vendor ecosystem employment, and prioritizing product investments on behalf of STARs
Strategy and Pipeline Development:
  • Cultivate, maintain, track and leverage relationships with potential partners, including companies and workforce development organizations
  • Develop systems and processes, including regular use of Salesforce, for partnership cultivation 
  • Support new relationship development at every phase, from generating leads “at the top of the funnel,” to crafting pitches and developing proposals, to helping close deals. 
  • Support efforts to steward and grow the current corporate employer partner pipeline in tandem with the Partnerships team, Identify hiring trends and track placement opportunities across multiple customers 
Sales Marketing & Comms
  • Work with colleagues and partners to develop customer-appropriate pitch decks and other marketing collateral that showcase O@W’s core assets and thought leadership.
  • Lead pitch delivery with executive presence and poise to inspire confidence and interest among key customers and partners.
  • Develop strategies for highlighting successful corporate efforts and sharing case studies
Strategy & Leadership
  • Work closely with the Chief Partnerships Officer and the Director of Partnerships to recommend, shape, and implement a shared vision for engagement and partnership that will amplify Opportunity@Work’s vision, research, products and services (including engagement with Marketplace platform)
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of the most effective strategies and current thinking around partnerships in the fields of inclusive hiring, future of work and workforce development--and support staff in incorporating this information and these networks into their work.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Prior success in the corporate, HR and/or workforce sector focused on partnership development with Fortune 500 companies
  • 5-7 years of experience in partnerships, sales, fundraising and/or stakeholder relations
  • Experience in corporate HR or the workforce development space
  • A confident, articulate communicator with strong written and oral communication and the ability to influence and inspire action among a wide range of audiences.
  • Previous experience with working with senior executives to provide strategic counsel while successfully navigating differing points of view.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires collaboration, problem-solving and comfort with ambiguity
  • Knowledge of employers, partners, and trends related to issues related to inclusive hiring, workforce development, future of work, etc. 
  • Proficiency with Salesforce
  • A passion for O@W’s mission of inclusive hiring and workforce development, and a desire to be part of a team that is committed to growth and learning
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail


  • Compensation:  We believe in equal pay for equal work. Salary for our positions are based on market data and NOT what you’ve been paid before nor your negotiation skills.
  • Healthcare: We pay 100% of your medical, dental, and vision coverage and 50% of the premium for your spouse and/or dependents. 
  • Retirement: We match 4% of your salary (up to a maximum of $5,000) annually, and will contribute an additional 1% of your salary, even if you don’t make a contribution.
  • Paid Time Off We value work/life balance and trust our team members to be productive. In service of this, our Responsible Paid Time Off policy does not limit time off. Additionally, we are closed for major holidays including the last week of the year.
  • Parental Leave: To help support new parents in the workplace, we offer 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Flexible Work Schedules:  We are 100% remote through 2020 and afterward will continue to offer flexible schedules including partial work from home options.
